Google's New Ad Format Swirl 3D
Google's New Ad Format Swirl 3D
Google is offering a 3-dimensional advertising experience in its new ad format, Swirl. Designed for the mobile web, Swirl 3D brings users a highly realistic ad format that can be rotated 360 degrees.
Google had initially offered the Swirl 3D beta version, which has now met users all over the world, primarily to global giant brands like Adidas, Nissan, and Guerlain. As a result of these well-loved and excitedly received ads, Google has made Swirl 3D available to all users. In Swirl 3D, which allows for detailed examination of products, it is possible to zoom in, zoom out, and even see all the details of the products by rotating them 360 degrees!

There are also companies that increase their interactions by using Swirl 3D in a much more creative way beyond product review. For example, pet food manufacturer Purina highlighted cute, adorable dogs instead of their dog food. By letting users play a game of "fetch" with a dog through the Swirl 3D ad, Purina more than did justice to Google's new ad format and received engagement nearly 6 times higher than their standard ads.
Swirl 3D, which can be used in Google Ads' Display and Video 360 advertising models, allows users to interact with the ad as if it were right in front of them, while giving brands new advertising opportunities, the chance to catch up with technology, and the ability to present their products in a detailed manner.
Although Swirl 3D ads, which offer a new field of experience for both users and brands, seem to have already solidified their place in the technology world, it appears they will become a part of our lives by becoming much more widespread with the increase in VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) platforms in the coming years.
